  • Freshness First: We source our seafood directly from trusted suppliers, and for Fresh Market Orders, we purchase specifically for your order.
  • Inspect Before You Pay: You have the right to inspect your order before making payment.
  • Quality Guarantee: We stand behind the quality of our products.
  • Transparency: We are honest about our products, sourcing, and pricing.

2. Ordering & Delivery

2.1 Order Placement

Orders can be placed through our website or via WhatsApp. By placing an order, you agree to provide accurate information including:

  • Correct delivery address
  • Valid phone number for contact
  • Accurate order details

2.2 Delivery Models

We offer two delivery models:

Express Delivery

  • Delivery from available stock
  • Same or next day delivery
  • Limited selection based on stock availability
  • Standard pricing applies

2.3 Delivery Schedule

  • Tuesday Delivery: Order by Sunday 11:59 PM
  • Friday Delivery: Order by Wednesday 11:59 PM
  • Express Delivery orders are processed within 24 hours

2.4 Delivery Areas

We currently deliver to the following areas:

2.5 Delivery Fees

  • Delivery fees are calculated based on your delivery area
  • Free delivery on orders over R1000
  • Delivery fees are displayed at checkout

3. Payment Terms

3.1 Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash on Delivery - Pay in cash when you receive your order
  • Card on Delivery - Pay with card when you receive your order
  • EFT - Electronic Funds Transfer (for pre-orders)
  • Online Payment - Via our secure payment gateway

3.2 Pay on Delivery Terms

Important: Pay on Delivery

  • Payment is only required after you have inspected your order
  • You are not obligated to pay for any items that do not meet your expectations
  • Our driver will wait while you inspect your order
  • If you are not satisfied, you are not required to accept the delivery
  • Unpaid items that are rejected will be returned to us

3.3 Pricing

  • All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR)
  • Prices are subject to change without notice
  • The price displayed at the time of order is the price you pay
  • We reserve the right to correct any pricing errors

4. Inspection & Acceptance

4.1 Your Right to Inspect

You have the right to inspect your entire order before making payment.

This is one of the key benefits of ordering from Table Bay Foods. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

4.2 Inspection Process

  1. Our driver will present your order to you
  2. You may open and inspect all items
  3. Check for freshness, quality, and correctness
  4. Verify quantities and weights
  5. Only pay for items you are satisfied with

4.3 Acceptance

Acceptance Confirmation

By accepting your delivery and making payment, you confirm that:

  • All items have been inspected by you
  • You are satisfied with the quality and freshness of all items
  • The quantities and weights are correct
  • All items are in acceptable condition
  • You accept the order as delivered

Once you have inspected, accepted, and paid for your order, we consider the transaction complete.

4.4 Rejection

If you are not satisfied with your order:

  • You may reject any item that does not meet your expectations
  • You are not required to pay for rejected items
  • Rejected items will be returned to us
  • You may choose to accept only the items you are happy with
  • We will not pressure you to accept any item

5. Quality & Freshness

5.1 Our Quality Commitment

  • We source seafood from trusted, verified suppliers
  • For Fresh Market Orders, products are sourced specifically for your order
  • We do not keep large quantities in storage
  • Our fish is handled with care to maintain freshness
  • We deliver with ice packs to maintain temperature

5.2 Freshness Guarantee

We stand behind our freshness guarantee.

If any item is not fresh at the time of delivery, you may reject it at no cost to you.

We take freshness seriously and will investigate any quality concerns.

5.3 Product Descriptions

  • We make every effort to accurately describe our products
  • Product images are for illustration purposes
  • Actual products may vary slightly
  • Weights are approximate and may vary slightly

6. Refunds & Returns

6.1 Inspection-Based Returns

Because you inspect your order before payment, there is no need for traditional returns. However:

  • If you reject an item at delivery, you do not pay for it
  • We take rejected items back with us
  • No payment is required for rejected items

6.2 Post-Delivery Issues

Important: After Delivery

Once you have inspected, accepted, and paid for your order:

  • We consider the order complete
  • We are not responsible for items after delivery
  • We recommend inspecting thoroughly before accepting
  • We encourage you to take your time inspecting

Exception: If there is a hidden defect that could not have been discovered during inspection, please contact us within 2 hours of delivery.

6.3 Reporting Issues

If you discover an issue after delivery that was not apparent during inspection:

  • Contact us within 2 hours of delivery
  • Provide photos of the issue
  • Include your order number
  • We will investigate and respond within 24 hours
  • Resolution will be determined on a case-by-case basis

6.4 Discretionary Returns

We may, at our discretion, offer refunds or replacements for:

  • Items that genuinely have quality issues
  • Items that were damaged during delivery
  • Items that do not match the description
  • Exceptional circumstances

These decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.

7. Taste & Preference

We cannot guarantee that you will like the taste of our products.

Seafood, like all food, has natural variations in taste, texture, and flavor. These variations are normal and expected.

We can only guarantee freshness and quality, not personal preference.

7.1 Natural Variations

  • Fish and seafood have natural variations in taste
  • Seasonal changes affect flavor profiles
  • Different catches will have natural differences
  • Freshness affects taste, which is why we prioritize freshness
  • Personal preference varies from person to person

7.2 What We Guarantee

Freshness - Product is fresh at time of delivery
Quality - Product meets our quality standards
Correctness - Product matches what you ordered
Condition - Product is in good condition
Taste - We cannot guarantee you will like the taste
Personal preference - We cannot guarantee the product will suit your personal taste

7.3 What We Do Not Cover

We do not offer refunds or replacements based on:

  • Personal taste preferences - We cannot refund because you didn't like the taste
  • Subjective quality perception - What is "good" is subjective
  • Comparison to other products - Products vary naturally
  • Expectation mismatch - Products may taste different than expected
  • Unfamiliarity with seafood - If you are new to seafood, taste may be unexpected

7.4 Our Recommendation

  • We encourage you to try a small quantity first if you are unsure
  • Ask us about the taste profile of different products
  • Read product descriptions and ask questions before ordering
  • Consider that natural variations are normal and expected

8. Customer Responsibilities

8.1 Order Accuracy

  • You are responsible for ensuring your order is accurate

8.2 Delivery Reception

  • Please be available to receive your delivery
  • Provide accurate delivery instructions
  • Ensure someone is home to accept the order
  • Have payment ready when the driver arrives
  • Our driver will wait a reasonable time for inspection

8.3 Inspection Responsibility

  • You are responsible for inspecting your order thoroughly
  • Take your time to inspect each item
  • Check quantities, weights, and quality
  • Reject any items that do not meet your expectations
  • Once you accept and pay, the transaction is complete
